YOUTHS and the Crimes They Commit.
About this event: 4th World Youth Congress - Quebec City 2008

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Have you ever wondered why young people commit crimes and live a life of wrecklessness?. They live as though life is "nothing" to them and as such, they engage in social vices which are detrimental and unhealthy to their soul. Drug addition, Rape, Gangsters, Murder, Assassin, Burglary, Rapes, Thefts, Violence etc these seem to be the order of the day as good behaviour is becoming a fade! These insane behaviour call for prompt attention and intervention because for us to have a safer community and better world, they must be controlled, they must be tamed, they must be well-guided.

In my country Nigeria, in Western Africa, the youths are not exempted from these criminal charges, as daily reports unveil this. More so, a recent visit to the juvenile delinquents in the Remand home in one of the States revealed the high rate of criminal charges amongst young people even toddlers! Then, the question is, what are the factors responsible for these and how can they (youths) be tamed?

These behaviours are definitely uncalled for and at such should be controlled. As a youth leader, it pains my heart each time I read about young people involved in crimes and living below expectation, My utmost desire is to inspire & raise a generation of purpose-driven youths and as much as possible I encourage young people everywhere I go, to live a better life, to abstain from drugs, to commit no crime, to be good ambassadors and to believe in themselves and in their future regardless of present difficulties (e.g Poverty, Famine, Hunger) for the future belongs to those who dare to dream.

Tackling youth crime is a priority not only for the government but every concerned heart. Most importantly, parents should Strengthen their relationshiop with the children. It's no gainsay that present parenting style is drooping as parents spend more time in offices, workplaces than with their children. This sucks greatly and helps widden the parent-child relationship. The family is the basic unity of the society, within which each member learns best what it means to be a human person. It is a place where each human person is carefully taught by the family how to behave responsibly, to commit, to share, and to love. But, due to economic hardship and the struggle to make ends meet in most Countries, parents/Guardians are gradually becoming negligent of these duties hence, the young ones are left under the influence of bad peer pressures etc.

To have a better world, to have a promising future, we need to stand up and fight against youth crime in our community. Let's say NO to any form of YOUTH CRIMES. . . . .Let's protect our FUTURE

In a Lighter Mood. . . .
Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

It's nice having to write again on my blog after some days off. Though, the decision wasn't intentional, but i was too helpless to concentrate on so many things after the death of a dear one, mama. Mama, (a mother to my friend) was so dear to me, she was so caring, compassionate and loving, I could remember the day she and my friend stopped over to visit me while on a journey back home. Oops! it was such an exciting moment, as we embraced, laughed and chatted over a long period of time, You could 'read' love on her face. (Mine! I never knew that was my last day of seeing mama). It was a rude shock to me earlier this week when I heard of mama's death! Mama, had an accident and she just couldn't survive it, I guess she had some internal bleeding which led to her eventual death. I love her so much, and I'm sure I would miss her for real.

I've decided to commemorate her this day, by putting on the attire (dress) she bought for me some days back!! such a nice outfit, I know i look great on it as my colleagues in the office reaffirmed. . Mama, i just can't believe you're gone.. . .It's still a mystery to me. . .it's like a dream, isn't it too early?

May you rest in the bossom of thy Lord. Amen
